When Edward Garrett moved to New York from South Dakota, he went about getting a pistol permit.
Three years later, he’s suing New York State in Buffalo federal court.
“Whatever happened to the words, ‘shall not be infringed?’ ” asked Garrett, a Town of Evans resident and the new chairman of the Erie County Libertarian Party.
Garrett is one of eight plaintiffs in a new civil suit challenging the constitutionality of New York’s pistol permit law, a gun control law dating to 1911 and the Tammany Hall days of New York City.

The problem is that these laws and regulations do not keep concealable firearms out of criminal hands any more than “the war on drugs” is keeping drugs out of our neighborhoods! Drug gangs and criminals are armed to the teeth as a heroin epidemic rages through our society. (HEROIN EPIDEMIC = ROBBERIES AND HOME INVASIONS) Meanwhile police enforce gun laws on LAW ABIDING CITIZENS – with an underlying if not overbearing attitude that only police should be armed because their lives would be safer and easier if that were so. Give them more and more laws to enforce, to limit your firearms – AND THEY WILL LIMIT YOUR FIREARMS MORE AND MORE, YOU CAN BE SURE! The problem is the people being limited, regulated, and put through intimidating burdensome procedures, ARE NOT THE ONES WHO ARE THE THREAT TO POLICE SAFETY! In fact law abiding gun owners have always been the biggest supporters of our police! Over the years, INFRINGING GUN LAWS PILE UP!!! The “Right of THE PEOPLE to keep AND BEAR arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” is now interpreted by progressive socialist politicians to mean – “Shall be limited to whatever limited sporting arms politicians feel comfortable allowing”! Regulating handgun ownership and the burdensome process to be “approved” is designed toward LIMITING HANDGUN OWNERSHIP! This is only one part of the all out WAR against citizens second amendment rights! GUN LAWS PILING UP OVER THE YEARS (You know, the “sensible” – “common sense” ones) ARE A NOOSE TIGHTENING AROUND THE NECKS OF LAW ABIDING GUN OWNERS – DESIGNED TO SQUEEZE THE LIFE OF ARMED FREEDOM – AND THE CAPABILITY TO RESIST GOVERNMENT POWER – OUT OF SOCIETY!
THE SECOND AMENDMENT IS EFFECTIVELY REPEALED! (In NY & other states)
We are not yet disarmed, but we are “SUBARMED” to ineffectivness.
