Keeping the Anti-Gun Dream Alive

July 24, 2015

Some people still believe gun-prohibition works.  That fading idea is like a sick old man on life support.  It takes more and more effort simply to keep that fading fantasy alive.

They try.  These anti-rights lobbyists pump out a heartbeat of press releases paid for with a billionaire’s money.  Yes, I mean Bloomberg, as well as the Joyce, Tides and Heinz foundations.

Here is an example.  The murders at the Charleston, South Carolina church were in a gun free zone.  The billionaires who wants you disarmed said we need more background checks.. while admitting the murderer passed his firearms owner background check.

Well, duhh.

A crazed gunman attacked a Dallas, Texas police station.  The Bloomberg groups blamed a new law allowing open carry of firearms.  They forgot to mention that the open carry law does not go into effect until next year.

Oops.

Judging these examples, it isn’t easy selling media spin.. even if you have millions of dollars to generate press releases.  I couldn’t do it.health-life-support

The dying idea of gun-prohibition has given us failure after failure.  Each failure demands a successively larger media campaign to keep the gun-prohibition fantasy alive.  It becomes harder and harder to sell gun-prohibition to anyone except the liberal medial.  The media spin would be funny except for the number of disarmed victims.  Look for the media to parrot the press release after the next attack in a gun free zone.*

mda told you

(Told you so.  RM)

The idea of gun-prohibition is fading fast.  The number of concealed carry permits in the US more than doubled since President Obama was elected.  Last year the number of permits grew by a record 15%.  The murder rate fell by 25 percent during that same period showing that honest gun owners don’t cause crime.  Today, the national average is that one out of 19 adults has a permit to carry, and in five states the licensed carry rate is more than one in ten adults.

The average gun owner looks like the average American.  Since 2007, permits for women have increased by 270% while permits have only grown by 156% for men.  Evidence suggests that permit holding by minorities is increasing more than twice as fast as for whites.

Bloomberg will have to pump a few more millions into the dead idea of gun-prohibition.

Good riddance to blood money.pull the plug

*I originally thought I’d hold this article, but then MDA gave me the quote I wanted.  The murderer in Louisiana was a drifter with a long criminal history.. who got a gun anyway.  MDA said we need more gun control.  (head desk)

And now they’re going for women again – and the “abuse” angle – again. AND THEY WILL BE GOING STRONG, TOO – SPENDING MILLIONS & MILLIONS NATIONALLY – AT EVERY LEVEL!!! AND THEY WILL SEE STRONG SUCCESS!!! WHY? Because WOMEN r emotional creatures. And dont care about “justice” when their “ex’s” are involved. LIBS KNOW THIS!

** AND THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF “INNOCENT” MEN WILL BE STRIPPED OF THEIR RIGHTS, and SUFFER PERSECUTION BY THE CORRUPT COURTS & PERVERTED LEGAL SYSTEM – THEIR ATTORNEYS HELPLESS.

DIVIDE & CONQUER. LIBs R MENTALLY ILL. WHEN R AMERICANS GOING TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND “DEMAND” THEY GET HELP?? YES- DEMAND!! WHEN R OUR SUPPOSED “CONSERV” POLITICIANS GOING TO START A NATIONAL CONVERSATION AROUND THEIR MENTAL ILLNESS??? …THE TIME IS NOW!!!!

    ** NOW!!

The entire gun control argument can be reduced to the following; Criminals don’t obey the law. So some dumb people want more laws for them to disobey. It doesn’t solve the problem, but it makes the dumb people feel better.

Actually, we aren’t even at the “Does Gun Control work or doesn’t it” stage of the argument, or we shouldn’t be.

The Second Amendment was written and passed to ensure that the common citizen would have easy, legal access to military grade firearms. We know thins because the debates on the Bill of Rights are well documented. Now, that may be a lousy idea; the Constitution included several. Or changing conditions may have made what was a good idea in the late 18th century a bad one now. That is why the Constitution includes in its text a process for amendment.

Let the Gun Control dreamers propose a Constitutional Amendment that would make gun control laws legal. Until they do that; until they admit that it is necessary for them to do that, they have not earned the right to argue for specific gun control legislation. They are scofflaws.

I do not own a gun. I don’t plan on owning one, either (I’m cheap). But I want to live in a country the government of which obeys its own laws. I want to live in a country where the authority of self-important busybodies to interfere with my life is limited by law. And if the Gun Control dreamers can evade the clear limits of the Second Amendment, then mho other protection can be counted on, either.

I will not debate whether Gun Control LAws are effective, because the immediate point is that they are clearly and irrefutably Unconstitutional. I will not argue that background checks would or would not prevent tragedies, because I am far more exercised by the tragedies of the 20th century brought about by unanswerable governments.

My message to the Gun Control fans; play by the rules or get off the playground.
