Your Feelings About Guns
Some people feel guns are bad and they feel better if they hate gun owners. I beg you to keep things in perspective if you hate guns. Most gun haters claim guns are an accident waiting to happen. I guess so, but walking down the street is also an accident waiting to happen. Let me show you. Drunk drivers are a far bigger risk than guns.
People who fear and hate firearms say guns are only used by bad people. I need to remind you that good people use all kinds of tools to protect and save others. In fact, the first thing we do when trouble happens to those we love is call a good man with a gun. For all the laws we pass to restrict honest gun owners, they are not the source of violence in our society. Licensed carry holders are the most law abiding of citizens.
We’re missing something even with these charts. Our perspective is incomplete and we’re only looking at half the picture. These charts don’t show the many lives saved from public violence by civilians with guns. These charts don’t show the hundreds of millions of disarmed people murdered by their government and in ethnic genocide.
Cry for them if you have a heart. And yes, genocide happens here in the US. I want good men to have guns.
If you’re a hater, the best I can do is try to change your mind. It is up to you to change your heart.

Thank you sir for this information. I will pass it around on Twitter. Every gun owner should have this current relevant information at hand when talking about the issues.

Since “progressives” don’t seem to have the ABILITY to think rationally, they must rely on their “feelings” to make decisions. Thus your opening sentence. “Some people ‘feel’ guns are bad and the ‘feel’ better….”

Jared Land, Thank you for your comment. I have to talk to them where they live, where ever that may be.

The problem is, Rob, that they don’t have any desire to LISTEN. We start out in “pre-school” teaching our children that “government” is their friend and benefactor. As someone once said, “Government is, at best, a necessary evil.” We have to have government. We DON’T have to have one that acts as our nanny and shouldn’t put up with a government trying to BE our nanny for another election cycle. As the recent Virginia governor’s election tells us–people will NOT vote in their own best interests if it requires that they actually THINK about what they are voting for.

As you alluded to the issue with self defense is far more than statistics about self defense killings reveal. Best estimates are between 1 and 2 million people a year use a gun to stop a crime. In most cases no shots are fired and the criminal retreats when threatened with deadly force. This has happened to me twice in 61 years. In both cases without the gun I probably would have been severely hurt or even killed. Looking at the gun control issue rationally, impossible for iberals I know, guns in private hands do far more good than harm.
