Conservative Shareholder Grills CEO Of Dick’s Sporting Goods For Pushing Anti-Gun Propaganda | The Daily Caller
June 14, 2018
“Get woke. Go broke.” Shareholder asks tough questions at annual meeting. RM
“Sales are so anemic and relations with gun manufacturers such as Mossberg so poor right now that you’ve even indicated Dick’s might get out the gun business entirely. Meanwhile, Sportsman’s Warehouse reports that their gun sales and net sales were up 15 percent during the first quarter. That company credits consumer backlash against companies such as Dick’s as partially responsible for its success.”

Ill advised though it may be or in fact, by some lights actually is, Dick’s management can in fact adopt any policy re the sales or stocking of merchandise that falls within the limits of applicable law. That said, Dick’s customers, or as it seems Former Customers can choose to trade at Dick’s or take their business elsewhere, as it appears many have done. Speaking for myself, the only purchases I ever made at Dick’s were non gun related, except for a couple of bore brushes. Given the positions adopted by Dick’s management, there will be no further purchases by me of anything offered by Dick’s, barring a complete change of policy, and quite possibly not even then.

I sold my shares as well, although keeping them and starting a shareholder backlash against the CEO was tempting!

There are/were possibilities there, however a lot would depend on reaction or action from other shareholders.
