Never Let a Tragedy Go to Waste- October 2017 Edition

October 3, 2017

I wrote about the Las Vegas murderer who shot into a crowd at a country music festival.  I said the facts are not in.  I said that anti-rights activists and politicians would call for our disarmament even before the facts were known.  I reminded you that being a disarmed citizen is dangerous.  That is a fact, not speculation.  My statements anticipating the reaction of our political elites are closer to certainties than predictions. I’m not willing to wait a “respectful interval” while I am condemned by political elites. I will not sit in silence. You shouldn’t either.

I asked you to remember how the elites behaved the last time a liberal shot at some conservatives. In that case, we were told that our free society needs to give up power to the government.

The statists media and anti-rights politicians would howl even louder and behave even worse if a conservative shot at a group of liberals, so the example I chose, liberal shoots conservatives, was the smaller reaction we should expect.  We didn’t have long to wait.

All these articles appeared within the first 24 hours after the murders.  Like before, the anti-rights bigots proposed measures that would not have stopped this murderous attack, nor the last one.

Quoting a Saratoga, New York TV station- Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said “ should not be legal for a civilian on American soil to own or use a weapon of war like this assault weapon.”  It may shock the Democrat senator from New York, but it is already illegal to murder people without regard to the tool they use.  I note that the reporter did not correct Gillibrand’s comments.

Secretary Hillary Clinton said we needed to outlaw firearms mufflers. At this point, there is no evidence the attacker used a muffler on his firearm.

Quoted from

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) said, “While we have much to learn about this terrible incident, we know mass shootings are all too familiar in America. And we know we can protect our communities better. How many lives must be lost before we act?”

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said, “This must stop. It is positively infuriating that my colleagues in Congress are so afraid of the gun industry that they pretend there aren’t public policy responses to this epidemic. There are, and the thoughts and praters of politicians are cruelly hollow if they are paired with continued legislative indifference. It’s time for Congress to get off its ass and do something.”  “Guns are the problem.”

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said Congress needs to do more to prevent mass shootings from occurring.

From the San Jose Mercury News- Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) “demanded a House vote on legislation to require background checks of everyone who buys a firearm.”  Preliminary reports indicate that the murderer had no criminal record and possessed his firearms legally.  So did the last attacker who shot at Republican Representatives while they practiced baseball in Virginia.

A CBS media Vice President said, “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic]”

I have many more examples of hate and the call for gun prohibition.  You can find them yourself with a web search of your own. October 2 2017 calls for more gun control after Las Vegas attack

Politicians and media celebrities called for disarmament because an attacker was able to injure and kill people in a crowd holding several thousand people.  These politicians know that any firearm can do that, and they hope that you don’t.

I don’t know how to stop an attack from a multi-story building that overlooks a crowd of people who are fenced in and cannot escape to safety. I wish I did.  We will learn more in the next few days.

Until then, I will not sit silently while politicians and elites condemn the people who didn’t do it. Neither should you.

I heard there is a new call for a “national discussion” on “gun control”.
    I’m willing – I’ll start.
I am not willing to surrender any of my Second Amendment rights.
I am not willing to surrender any of my firearms.
I am willing to fight to keep my firearms and Second Amendment rights.

No discussion…2A enumerates an individual right to own and carry any kind of device for the defense of the State or individual, no questions needed!!

When the Left calls for opening a “dialog” regarding “reasonable” restrictions on firearms they mean
    1) We all listen in rapt attention as they present their agenda
    2) we all get together and contribute our ideas on how the gun grabbers’ agenda will be implemented.
    See? That was easy.

The right of a citizen to bear arms, in lawful defense of himself or the State, is absolute. He does not derive it from the State government. It is one of the high powers” delegated directly to the citizen, and `is excepted out of the general powers of government.’ A law cannot be passed to infringe upon or impair it, because it is above the law, and independent of the lawmaking power.”

The TRUTH about the “supremacy clause” – our Constitution does not delegate to the national government authority to restrict our arms, ammunition, regulate firearms dealers, do background checks, etc.

For the perfect example of how “reasonable” gun control would play out we need only look to Great Britain. They have the sort of gun laws our anti gun crowd dreams about. Absolutely no handguns, no semi automatic rifles or shotguns, no swords, and heavy restrictions on large knives. Coincidentally, this has not prevented numerous terrorist attacks on British soil, and according to UN statistics the British violent crime rate is only five times that of we in gun crazy America.

Wow, I clicked on a Politico post, and discovered lots of people that would like to be the trigger-gal or trigger-guy on deplorables like me. For sure, I’m arming up and thinking through strategies to survive those hateful bigots
