California Politics- Of, By, and For the Elite

August 6, 2017

I wrote about the blatant bigotry of California gun laws, particularly the way concealed carry permits were issued in Los Angeles.  In LA County,  mostly rich white guys with political connections got their carry permits.  A reader noticed something I’d missed.  We’re ruled by elites.  Politicians make gun laws that the politicians don’t have to follow.  Law enforcement applies the laws..laws that don’t apply to the police.  Judges rule on gun laws..again, laws that don’t apply to judges.  We established government of, by, and for the elites.  Disarming honest citizens might cost politicians votes, but it costs us lives.  I’ll spell it out for you step by step.

California legislators have been exempt from state gun laws for years.  Those laws recently changed again, but that explains why the California Democrats are so quick to pass more restrictive gun laws.  These new laws apply to us, but there are another set of rules for our rulers.  Politicians get their permits to carry concealed weapons in public, but you don’t.  Depending on who is in power in Sacramento, the legislators can even get permission to carry in the capital..where you may not.

State legislators are not alone. Sheriffs routinely give concealed carry permits to local politicians while denying these permits to law abiding citizens.  And speaking of law enforcement..

Law enforcement officers may carry firearms that are denied to ordinary California citizens.  Some thirty categories of officers are exempt from the state roster of approved handguns. California approves fewer and fewer guns every year so the difference between law enforcement and civilians keeps growing.  The issue is bigger than what firearms the police carry on the job.

Law enforcement can carry concealed when they are off the job and out of uniform. They are allowed to carry ammunition magazines that are illegal for ordinary California civilians to own in their home, let alone for us carry in public.  Retired law enforcement officers are usually granted concealed carry permits if they stay in California.  That isn’t fair and equitable treatment between the ordinary citizen and the elites.

California Sheriffs routinely grant concealed carry permits to judges and attorneys.  Is it any wonder that judges then see nothing wrong with the present system that denies the right to carry to honest citizens.  The legal restrictions that disarm you are not applied to judges. They want a permit to defend themselves and they get one.  You want a permit and you don’t.  Of course that is an infringement of the human right to self-defense..and now we know why.

Yes, I know that politicians, law enforcement officers, judges and lawyers are special.  They are special just like everyone else..except when we look at the record in Los Angeles County.  We have a name for people who are above the law.

Europe has its royalty.  The US has its elites.  Unfortunately, this elitist system is the rule rather than the exception.  We see it in blue states from coast to coast.  The elitism is simply more evident in California, and particularly in LA. We see politicians with permits.  City hall has armed guards while the the most important security in LA is disarmed.

You could re-write this entire article and replace “California” with “New York” and it ALL still applies. We’ve been forced to live with a double standard regarding constitutional rights for over 3 years now.

    AMENDMENT II
A dominant State Security Service, being necessary to the security of the Progressive State, the right of law enforcement and State officials, active and retired, to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. All other citizens will comply with all current firearm and magazine restrictions, as outlined by State Law, under penalty of felony prosecution.

The Second Amendment is alive and well – it’s just been REINTERPRETED a little.
(Of course the end result is the same citizens gun rights as in the Soviet Union, Red China, and maybe Nazi Germany. . . . . But it’s OK – “PUBLIC SAFETY” was cited when implementing the law.)

Maryland is the same way – they always had that “good and substantial reason” section on the application. The interpretation of this phrase is three documented threats against your life or person. The application is made through the Maryland State Police who simply deny all applications not made by politicians, lawyers, and VIPs of various stripes.

Have the antics of the state police been test d in the courts? This might be the proverbial dumb question, though perhaps worth asking.

Marxists and Islamists who infect our government plus the media prostitutes who protect them will gleefully lie, falsify, fabricate, slander, libel, deceive, delude, bribe, and treasonably betray the free citizens of the United States into becoming an unarmed population. Unarmed populations have been treated as slaves and chattel since the dawn of history.

The Second Amendment foes lying about gun control – Firearms are our constitutionally mandated safeguard against tyranny by a powerful federal government.

Only dictators, tyrants, despots, totalitarians, and those who want to control and ultimately to enslave you support gun control.

No matter what any president, senator, congressman, or hard-left mainstream media hookers tell you concerning the statist utopian fantasy of safety and security through further gun control: They are lying. If their lips are moving, they are lying about gun control. These despots truly hate America..

These tyrants hate freedom, liberty, personal responsibility, and private property. But the reality is that our citizens’ ownership of firearms serves as a concrete deterrent against despotism. They are demanding to hold the absolute power of life and death over you and your family. Ask the six million Jews, and the other five million murdered martyrs who perished in the Nazi death camps, how being disarmed by a powerful tyranny ended any chances of fighting back. Ask the murdered martyrs of the Warsaw Ghetto about gun control.

Their single agenda is to control you after you are disarmed. When the people who want to control you hold the absolute power of life and death over your family, you have been enslaved.

Will we stand our ground, maintaining our constitutionally guaranteed Second Amendment rights, fighting those who would enslave us?

Furthermore, no one who has the money to hire a gun-armed bodyguard is required to prove he has “legitimate need” for a gun-armed bodyguard — ability to pay for it suffices. Nor does the bodyguard have to prove his client has “legitimate need” to be protected by a gun — all he has to do is show that he’s paid to be a bodyguard and he gets the permit. Of course, it’s only valid while he’s protecting the rich man.

So a couple can become “his and hers” bodyguards. He protects her and she protects him..and both protect their family. How odd that they would be disarmed if they were alone.

This two tier system of the elite and the deplorable is the reason that I voted as I did in the last election. They need to live under the same laws as the rest of us. This goes for everything. They get no special deals or carve outs on any program including health care, taxes, gun rights, The elites need to be taught the decisions they make, affect them the same as they affect the rest of us.

It took me 7 days in Alabama to get a concealed permit($15.00 fee), it took 4 months to get one in Nevada ($100.00 for the class) +the shells($60.00) for shooting to show that I knew how to shoot, all part of the class. At the time Clark county issued a blue card to carry with your permit on what gun or guns you could carry under the concealment agreement. I wouldn’t even try in California, New York or Jersey that’s got to be to nuts??? The ruling class should be as we are when it comes to all laws concerning gun right and they should follow the Constitution as well, which they do not. I want a fighting chance.

All gun control laws have been elitist, sexist or racist from the very first one. It is always amazing how many gun control advocates have guns themselves, sometimes illegally. The woman who was a gun control advocate in some northeastern state who shot her lover with his gun — oops he was a felon. Feinstein who carried a gun while mayor of SFO without a permit. Roberti who co-authored the Roos-Roberti act whose legislative aid had a concealed carry permit. The District of Corruption newspaper columnist who railed that everyone who used a gun should go to prison. I expected to see his attorney plead him guilty after he shot a young man skinny dipping in his pool, and demand state prison for his client. My expectations were not met. It goes on and on.

How come, if the claim is correct, is it that California legislators, might one describe them as the people’s employees, or should they be described as the people’s rulers, are exempt from the restrictions on constitutional rights inherent in the legislation that they enact, legislation being their “work product”, dthey most certainly do not build roads, bridges nor do they work to maintain the constructs of others, better men and women by far than they.

How come we are all eager to ease the restrictions so that we can get a PERMIT? The Second Amendment codifies our pre-existing right to arms. One does not need a permit to exercise a right, and when you do apply for a permit, you are cooperating in the conversion of an inalienable right to a withholdable and revocable privilege.

Good question, one to which I do not have an answer, except for the following possibility. The people have gotten so accustomed to asking permission of “their betters”, that they have forgotten that “their betters” are supposed to be their servants, not their rulers. As to how the thing got so twisted around, damned if I know.

U are right Capt. Phil, all law abiding citizen(all citizens) can open carry under the US Constitution , however I think most don’t cause law enforcement city, county, state make people feel out of place and for that matter so do citizens who don’t carry. I for one like to see citizens open carry!!!!!!

    tpolnathan said,

This is not about “Marxism” or Islamism or even Transnational Progressivism (Tranzi). This is about power and prestige and wealth: about a small “elite” who is able to and does dominate California, New York – and really, the rest of the Fifty States and the world – directly and indirectly through political and media pressure and control, and by intimidation, all backed up by their minions with the guns. California is different in degree, not kind. Guns are just one of many things that are used to control the population and protect and empower the elites.

Well I cant sound off for Cali, but I can certainly sound off loud and clear for the good old state of NY. this double standard as far as I can attest started all the way back to the good old days of gangs and corruption out in the open around the 20- 30’s , there was one senator in specific and his name was “SULLIVAN” and it’s even kind of funny that the very law that was the initial start of prohibiting ordinary citizens the right to keep and bare was, is and still to this day known as “the Sullivan act” seems ole Sullivan had quite a racket running the docks and wharf’s in and around NYC, well it was not polite to gun down his boys who where trying to rob you to fatten up his coffers whilst in the NY senate, how dare you, so he came up with a bill that got slammed into law either by hook or by crook, yeah that’s where the old saying came from, and its just gotten worse and worse and here we are, since when in any state of normalcy does 40% of the people in one state dictate what will be law without the consent of the remainder of 60% of the populace???????

It was quite a while prior to the 20’s or 30’s, and as I recall Sullivan ended up in a “funny farm”. As I remember from my reading Gangs of New York, the purpose of the Sullivan Law was to issue gun permits to Democrat poll watchers, while denying them to Republican poll watchers. It also has turned out to be a Cash Cow for the NYPD.

Going back a while to the days of The Knapp Commission headed by Whitman Knapp who was no friend of gun owners found that the operation of The Sullivan Law, with it’s “special applications to NYC and a few other areas was ripe with abuse and corruption. While some years have passed, nothing much else has changed.

If memory serves correctly, possibly it doesn’t, while FDR was governor of N.Y., the state legislature had acted to repeal The Sullivan Law. As sitting governor, FDR vetoed Sullivan Law repeal, saying something to the effect that the law should be given time to work. Of course, the Sullivan Law was enacted a long time prior to FDR’s election to the governor’s office.

Goal of rule by government: 3% of the population with guns – ensures that the other 97% serves the privileged 3%. My question: By what American founding principle does government deserve such privileges? My conclusion: If we turn in our guns, we deserve to be drones for those brainiacs
