I’m torn in two directions. I know addicts. The ones I know struggle to remain sober.
This article says that most heroin addicts started with prescription drugs. They switch to heroin because it is so much cheaper. Despite the “affordability” of heroin, many of these addicts soon steal to support their addiction. Despite the lower cost, addicts can’t work enough to support their habit. Their addiction devours them. Prohibition is a colossal failure, AND addiction is not a victimless crime.
