Anti-Gun Groups Produce an Anti-Gun Movie
Yahoo media’s newswoman, Katie Couric, starred in an anti-gun infomercial titled “Under the Gun”. That isn’t surprising. What is surprising is that the documentary movie claimed to be objective. We’re not surprised when a criminal lies on the witness stand. We are surprised when the judge lies. I guess times have changed and we shouldn’t be surprised when movies sell us purchased propaganda as fact.
Couric’s producers severely edited the response from gun owners she interviewed. The edits distorted their meaning and their reactions to Couric’s questions. Also, the movie directors recorded a four hour interview with crime expert Dr John Lott. They didn’t use a minute of the interview. Lott’s data did not support their anti-gun bias.
Reporter David Workman tells us why the producers went to such lengths to distort the record. Workman examined the many Bloomberg groups who funded the film.
They include Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Americans for Responsible Solutions, Sandy Hook Promise, the Violence Policy Center, the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, States United Against Gun Violence, Purpose Over Pain, the San Antonio Area Foundation and the Seattle-based Alliance for Gun Responsibility.
The reported documentary was a bought and paid for Bloomberg infomercial.
