The 28th Amendment to the US Constitution
October 5, 2013
This idea has been around so long I’d forgotten about it.
The President, and all sitting members of Congress, both the House and the Senate, are ineligible for re-election for life if the federal government spends and assumes liabilities that exceed the tax revenues received during the previous fiscal year. Re-election to occur the next November or April 15th, whichever occurs next, but beyond 90 days after the spending report.
That might get their attention.
