Twenty Black Leaders Support Gun-Rights

Last Friday, February 23^rd, a group of black leaders spoke boldly in favor of gun rights and armed self-defense-  here.  Their press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. was organized by CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education headed by Star Parker.

20 leaders from the black community advocating gun-rights is news since their comments don’t fit the stereotyped narrative.  They said segregationist Democrats had systematically disarmed and victimized blacks ever since reconstruction, and I do not paraphrase.   A video of their prepared remarks and media questions is- here.  The conference was not widely covered by the main stream press.  You can enter “CURE gun-rights” into your web browser news feed and see for yourself-  here.

I appreciate them even if the main stream media does not.

My friend Kenn Blanchard spoke at the conference ( starts at 26:04)  and my friend Walter Hoye was on stage.  If  Walter spoke, it was not captured in the video from the conference.  Though there is a long history of using the law to disarm and victimize blacks in the United States, there is not a “black point of view” when it comes to gun-rights.  Individuals have points of view.  Much of the black community does not support the human right of self-defense.  Kenn and Walter do.  It says a great deal about the courage of both men that they were there.   Thank you.
