The Day of Resistance Rally in Poway, CA

February 23, 2013

This is the Day of Resistance Rally held at Old Poway Park in Poway, California.  Roger Cotton started it with a Facebook post,  and then he pulled permits from the city.  He didn’t know if a dozen people would come, but people came!  It went viral as the local Facebook, Tea Party and Oath Keepers groups picked it up.

The crowd wanted to be heard and to send a message.  Unfortunately, I did not see a single elected official attend;  not the Poway Mayor Don Higginson, not a single county supervisor, not the San Diego County Sheriff William Gore, not a single State Assemblyman or State Senator.  The Republican County voluntary Chairman, Tony Krvaric, was there.  Thank you, Tony!

We got some video coverage from the local TV station KUSI.

No one knew how big the rally might be, but about 500 people attended.

Roger Cotton of  A Patriotic American Speaks Out blog gave the introductions.

Hello, San Diego!  A little bit of everyone was there.

They brought their signs.

These folks wanted to be seen and heard.  Bless them.

I described the proposed changes in California gun laws.  I told them it is too late to write letters; now is the time to write checks.  Now we need lobbyists and lawyers, so join the NRA, California Rifle and Pistol Association, and similar organizations.  I’ll post a list of the organizations and their links later.

I’ll give that speech, or one like it, anytime I’m invited.
