Dangerous Ignorance in the News Media

November 9, 2011

At MSNBC, they give her the title of “news analyst”.  She thinks constitutional self defense and  the second amendment should be eliminated because we’ve been “indiscreet” about who has guns in the USA.  Oh my, but I think she needs a vacation.  She definitely needs to get out more.  May I suggest.. Siberia?  It could be the trip of a lifetime for her.

The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929 and then murdered 20 million dissidents.  I hear Russia is lovely in the summer time, though organized crime remains a problem.

Perhaps the Soviet Union is a bit too far.  Europe is closer and eastern Europe is so culturally exotic.  Turkey established gun control in 1911 and then murdered a between 1,000,000 and 1,500,000 Armenians living in Turkey.  Historians remain unsure about the exact number of Armenians who were discreetly executed by their government.

Maybe she needs a great leap forward to a vacation, and China might be her cup of tea.  China implemented gun control as early as 1935.  Some dissidents were shot.  Some were starved, and some were driven to suicide.  The death toll was 20 million enemies of the state.  Gan bay!  It is so much easier to shoot, starve and torture once you’ve disarmed your victims.

Germany established gun control in 1938.  They then removed the registered guns from the Jews and exterminated 6 million Jews.  To show that they are equal opportunity sociopaths, they also murdered 3500 Jehovah’s Witnesses.   There is a reoccurring order to these horrors.  A government first denies the right of self-defense.  The government then finds it much easier to deny a minority the right to a legal trial and even to life itself.

Perhaps she would prefer a vacation in the western pacific.  Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people were systematically murdered.  Would a “news analyst” count as educated or as a “useful idiot”?

Perhaps she’d like to stay in the modern Americas.  Take South America for instance, where Guatemala enacted gun control as recently as 1964.  Only 100,000 Mayan Indians died.  Why, another 100,000 dead is a mere footnote to modern genocide.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians found that prayer was not enough to protect them.  Were they armed, the Christian victims might have praised the lord and  passed the ammunition.

Tribal and criminal violence in Zimbabwe is common.  Gun control laws went into effect in only 2005 and brought the latest fashion in extermination called “slow genocide”.  This is where tribal purges do not always end in gun violence.   Now they end in starvation as the disarmed and dispossessed are driven from their homes and fields.  The truly modern “slow genocide” avoids the violence that draws a camera in preference to the slow death that draws international aid.  Genocide changes with the times.

I’ve given you a few examples from the last hundred years, but genocide is timeless.  Disarmed minorities have been murdered with monotonous regularity.  Advocating for a disarmed people is setting the dangerous stage for oppression and bloodshed.  The political class has always tried to dictate who can have weapons, and this “news analyst” speaks for the political class who wants control of the disarmed.  At least we know who she represents.  We’ve had tens of millions of examples of disarmament.  I don’t want any more.  Minorities need to protect themselves.  They still have that right in the United States, though some people want to take the right away.

Some people see the armed citizen as dangerous, but danger is relative.  A “news analyst” setting the stage for oppression is much more dangerous than an armed citizen.  An ignorant “news analyst” is a danger with which we choose to live.  You see, freedom of speech is a protected right in the United Stages.  You don’t need a permit to be stupid in the public square, and the right of self defense guarantees that right of free speech.

Genocide always has its apologists.    The human right of self defense always has its defenders.  It needs them still.

HB, we can’t send her anywhere.

I’m worried about the elite attitude she represents and the audience who wants to believe her. I am glad she outed herself.
